TALCUM 98% (Agricultural and food grade)
Talc is used in many industries, including papermaking, plastics, rubber, food, electrical cables, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics. Finely ground talc is used as a cosmetic product (talc powder), as a lubricant, and as a filler in paper production.
E553b is an agricultural and food-grade additive made from talc. It consists of hydrated magnesium silicate and serves as a release agent, coating agent, or carrier. Our talc meets purity standards and is free of impurities and asbestos. Its hydrophobic properties repel water and prevent moisture absorption, making it an excellent anti-caking agent. It is also heat-resistant, making it ideal for food processing and as a lubricant.
In the agricultural and food industries, talc is used in rice, processed meats, spices, and cheese.
Thanks to its organophilic properties, talc can be used as a thickening agent in oil-based cosmetic formulations or pharmaceutical suspensions. It repels water and is perfectly suited for customizing cosmetic or pharmaceutical products.
Talc can also serve as a filler, carrier, or bulking agent in pharmaceutical or nutritional formulations. Since many vitamins or active ingredients are present only in very small amounts (microgram range), talc makes it possible to produce suitable dosages.
Its cohesive properties support the stabilization and binding of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).
